The kitchen and dining area has a small microwave, coffe
maker, oven/stove and a small refrigerator which is the perfect size for a short stay.
A wood stove provides heat in the cabin and solar power and
propane are used for lights and appliances.
A cistern system supplies water to the cabin from a year-round spring.
A spiral staircase takes you up to an open loft where our
guests sleep and enjoy an awesome view of the Sangres De Cristo Mountains.
The loft has an open sleeping area with a walk-in closet and a bathroom with a claw-foot
bathtub in it.
Since we have no laundry facilities in the cabin, we ask
our guests to bring along their own towels and bedding (sheets, blankets and/or sleeping bags).
We have a few extra blankets available for those extra chilly nights.
You may break your own trails by cross country skiing
from the cabin door or visit the 2 major ski resorts within an hour's drive of the cabin.
Wolf Creek Pass is southwest of the cabin off of Highway
160. There are also several trout streams in the area if you'd like to do a little fishing. The Rio Grande River is only
1/2 hour away!
You may choose to take a hike and explore an abandoned gold mine (Crystal Hill)
which sits less than 1 mile from the cabin.
The Great Sand Dunes National Park is located less than 45 minutes east of the cabin
and Penitente Canyon (rock climbing) is right around the corner.
The BOK Pond sits less than 1/4 mile down
from the cabin. The pond is fed by our spring which is located near the cabin. It ranges from 3 to 12 feet deep.

the fourth season this year (November 12-16, 2008).
This bull was shot just 1 mile north of the BoK Cabin, behind Crystal Hill.
